Basics on How to Take Professional Pictures
Before jumping into clicking and shooting your new DSLR camera, you need to learn the basics of how to take professional pictures. You can act like a pro when you have mastered the basic stuff, and then everything else will follow. The main definition of photography is “writing with light.” Photography simply means catching the right angles to attain perfect images. The optimum place to take photographs is in bright weather, on a sunny day when images will come out with vibrant colors. Because of the extreme ultraviolet rays produced by the sun during bright sunny days, you need to cover the lens of the camera. Transparent materials that are hit by sunlight deteriorate in color.
Never take your pictures while the sunlight hits directly on top of and at the back of the focus. The subject either becomes dark or the background appears clearer. Avoid using a flash when the sun is totally out because it will highly light up the point of focus, and produce dark areas around the remaining picture. Work with the camera’s ISO setting; it will guide you to create a perfect output. Experiment with your subject, using different shutter speeds to produce different angle shots, in portrait and landscape photo formats.
For portrait photos, focus on the individual’s eye to make your photographs look real. Stabilize your camera using a tripod to avoid creating vibration and shaky movement which will interrupt the possibility of nice photographs. When going to a sporting event, the suggested use of an 18-55mm lens would be excellent to obtain far objects, capturing them closely, eliminating the need for cropping.
Obtaining basic knowledge of photography is a must for taking pictures that appear to be taken by a professional. This will put you one foot ahead of all the photographers trying to be professional but who have no firm foundation of knowledge.
